Monthly Archives: June 2014

Heidi Hi-Fives | June 2014

Heidi Hi!

It’s actually felt summery almost every day in June, definitely impressed! However, with this being England, I’m hoping that there’s more to summer than just June!

FASHION

Bill wasn’t convinced but thought the blue wasn’t quite so bad so I bought those at the beginning of the month. OMG they are so comfortable! I went back to get the white pair, which they didn’t have, but they did have matte black which is probably a far better idea – my track record with white clothing is not great… (I bought both pairs in TK Maxx but you can order online straight from BIRKENSTOCK)

I cannot take credit for those beautifully painted nails – thank you Sophie! The colour is ‘Where Did Suzi’s Man-Go?’ from the OPI Brazil Collection.

Second fashion favourite – please see under YouTuber/Blogger *** for more info…

FOOD

I know, NAUGHTY. This is England and therefore when it’s sunny I’m obviously going to take full advantage of the opportunity for ice cream. Nobbly Bobbly is not just my June favourite, it is my all-time favourite ice cream.

FYI, the favourite ice lolly is R Whites Lemonade Ice Lolly, it’s a classic.

BEAUTY

I don’t have oily skin but I do get the odd spot. Feeling a bit down in the dumps and only having time to do the weekly shop, I picked this up in Tesco. So, not the most fancy of products but I really like it, gives me that little pamper time and my skin feels extremely soft afterwards. I’ve needed that recently.

MUSIC

Ariana Grande ft Iggy Azalea – Problem

Usher – Good Kisser

Sometimes you just need music that makes you feel SASSY!

YOUTUBER/BLOGGER

Claire’s YouTube Profile Pic

Claire Marshall! She is my #wcw (Woman Crush Wednesday) and Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday…

Her twitter info says “I’m a jeans and tshirt kind of gal”. Oh SNAP. This girl has style though – jeans/tee can be more than boring (more about this in a post coming soon, stay tuned!)

She’s so beautiful, big thumbs up for showing that tattoos are about character/stories and not just for big butch/scary women – although that’s fine too.

***The blue stripe shirt that she’s wearing in this photo is another of my fashion favourites but I have been unable to take a decent photo of it on me!

Her cat is called Bruce Lee.

Firstly an apology, the quality of this photo is TERRIBLE but it’s behind our sofa and I’d need The Rock to move it! I’ve wanted a chest/trunk for ages but finding one that I like has been more difficult than I thought it would be. I think they’re smart, useful and brings back memories of my boarding school days. This one reminds of an Airstream caravan and is exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately, this is also from TK Maxx and I don’t even know what to google to find something similar… so I guess that’s apology number two… Soz?

P.S. I bought Bill the Hulk hands as one of his birthday presents 2 (..?) years ago.

What have you been loving this month?

ASOS Addict #2

Heidi Hi!

So I said in my previous post that I was thinking about doing another ASOS Addict post once their website was back up and running after the fire, well, I've decided to give you two posts today as the website went live again about 2am this morning..

Here are my picks from the website that I think are great for summer!

Top Left: Strappy Tropical Maxi Dress The colours on this dress are beautiful and if you're sporting a tan..WOW.

Top Centre Left: Paisley Shorts These are from the Tall section (HOORAH for Tall selections) and although not something I'd normally go for, I quite like them as you can just chuck on a drapey tee and off you go.

Top Centre Right: Pastel Stripe Boucle Blazer ASOS blazers are always beautifully cut and this one is perfect for those chillier summer evenings.

Top Right: Paisley Print Dress Another paisley item! The thing with Paisley is that you don't really have to think about accessories because it does all the talking and I definitely appreciate minimal effort pieces!

Centre Left: You Float My Boat If you read my other post today you will recognise this bag but I think this might be a larger version. Because I think it's SO cute I'm fine with giving you a double dose #sorrynotsorry

Centre Right: Mixed Charms Long Necklace Mixed Charms, mixed tones means that it'll go with anything and if you struggle with jewellery this isn't too intimidating.

Bottom Left: Anchors & Stripes Silk Shift Dress You probably can't see it in the above photo but this little number has anchors dotted all over it. Go have a closer look..then add it to your basket. You're welcome.

Bottom Centre Left: Long Sleeved Tie Kaftan Walking down to the pool/beach in just your bikini? Feels a bit weird doesn't it. Grab yourself a handy kaftan that will fold up into nothing and put in your new You Float My Boat bag.

Bottom Centre Right: V Neck Vest This vest comes in a few different colours, really nice quality (I have black and grey already), has a v neck at the front and back, and for only £6… Sold.

Bottom Right: Metallic Pleated Mini Skirt I doubt I'd normally pick a metallic skirt but I'd wear this whole outfit – I already own a similar jacket, top and sandals! Perhaps I just need to think more about how I COULD wear things that I wouldn't normally.

Anything on the ASOS site that you think I've missed?

XO
